A love story unveiled from Whelan’s pub to the Eiffel Tower.
Have you ever wondered how two souls find each other amidst the hustle and bustle of life?
On January 3rd Deirdre and Dave were both savouring the last days of the festive season, little did they know that their chance meeting would set the stage for a beautiful journey ahead.
Fast forward to their first holiday in Paris, on top of the Eiffel Tower where Dave choose the perfect moment to propose. What made it even more special was the unexpected surprise waiting for Deirdre in the grounds of Muckross Abbey graveyard- a place where Deirdres beloved grand uncle Dan rests in peace. Some may find it a little morbid but for Deirdre it added a touch of romance and connection to her roots.
I asked Deirdre what was the deciding factor in choosing Killarney to celebrate their unity?
‘Killarney is my spiritual home. On the wedding day I learned that my grand uncle Dan used to work in the Great Southern hotel and I very much felt his presence on the day.
What was the highlight of the day?
‘Walking/floating down the aisle felt transcendent. The love emanating from our small wedding party of 30 people in Fossa church was deeply moving and humbling’
My final question was of course; What advice would you give other couples and what would you do differently?
‘Slow down, listen to yourself. Ground yourself and take in how all your loved ones are there to celebrate your union.
