Sadhbh and Pauls intimate winter wedding

From the moment I met Sadhbh and Paul I knew this was going to be a very special wedding. Their attention to detail coupled with vintage elements sets this wedding apart. When they both agreed to be featured on my blog I was over the moon!

I caught up with Sadhbh and Paul to get the low down on their journey to this very heartfelt and intimate day.

Here are the questions we all want to know the answer to!

Where did you meet?

Secondary school

How did the proposal happen?

It was a complete surprise. I had just handed in my thesis and Paul treated us to a stay in Parknasilla in Kenmare. Paul popped down on one knee at a bench overlooking the bay.

What made you choose your venue?

We celebrated our engagement with dinner in Mulcahy’s in Kenmare. The quality of the food and the staff just blew us away. We knew we wanted something small. Bruce and Laura in Mulcahy’s were so helpful and kindly agreed to let us book out the restaurant for a night to celebrate our wedding.

We didn’t always know if we were going to have a ceremony. One days we were visiting Paul’s Granny’s grave in the old Kenmare cemetery and stumbled across the boathouse at the Sheen Falls. Seeing the location, the views and the fact Paul’s Granny would be so close meant we booked it for our ceremony straight away.

What was the most memorable moment of the day?

Jumping around with all my friends on the dancefloor to Zombie.

Based on your own experience what advice would you give others?

Do what feels right for you as a couple and stick to it. This can be hard along the way with lots of (well-intentioned) advice from friends and family who are caught up in the moment. The only people whose opinions matter are you the couple’s.
